The voltage detector is an IC chip that monitor the voltage of power supply line to output a detected signal when the voltage falls below or exceeds the setting voltage, which is also shorted for VD.

Siproin provides low-power low-voltage detection chips, which are available in two forms: CMOS output and NMOS open-drain output.

The basic working principle: when the input voltage is lower than the threshold voltage that needs to be detected, the output pin of the chip becomes low, however when the input voltage is higher than the detection threshold, the output becomes high (the output is equal to the input).

Currently, Siproin has lauched some typical voltage detection chips which are widely used in the market. Including H70XXA-1 series, SSP61C series and SSP809 series of low-power voltage detection circuits, with the following application areas and characteristics:

The H70XXA-1 series devices are a set of three terminal low power voltage detectors implemented in CMOS technology. Each voltage detector in the series detects a particular fixed voltage ranging from

2.2V to 7.0V. The voltage detectors consist of a high-precision and low power consumption standard voltage source as well as a comparator, hysteresis circuit, and an output driver. Besides CMOS technology ensures low power consumption.

Although designed primarily as fixed voltage detectors, these devices can be used with external components to detect user-specified threshold voltages.

The H70XXA-1 series has the following features:

  • Low power consumption
  • Low temperature coefficient
  • Built-in hysteresis characteristic
  • High input voltage (up to 15V)
  • Output voltage accuracy: tolerance ±1% or ±2%
  • TO92, SOT89 ,SOT23 and SOT23-3 package.

The SSP61C series devices are a set of three terminal low power voltage detectors implemented in CMOS technology. Each voltage detector in the series detects a particular fixed voltage ranging from 0.9V to 5.0V. The voltage detectors consist of a high-precision and low power consumption standard voltage source as well as a comparator, hysteresis circuit, and an output driver (CMOS inverter or NMOS open drain). CMOS technology ensures low power consumption.

Just like H70XXA-1 series chips, this item is mainly created as a fixed voltage detector , it can also links the external devices to detect the threshold voltages that the users point.

The SSP61C series has the following features:

  • Low power consumption
  • Low temperature coefficient
  • Built-in hysteresis characteristic
  • High input voltage (up to 8V)
  • Output voltage accuracy: tolerance ±1% or ±2%
  • SOT23-3 and SOT23 package.

The SSP809 series are highly accurate, low power consumption voltage detectors, manufactured with CMOS and laser trimming technologies. A delay circuit is built-in to each detectors. Detect voltage is extremely accurate with minimal temperature drift. Both CMOS and N-ch open drain output configurations are available. Since the delay circuit is built-in, peripherals are unnecessary and high density mounting is possible.

The SSP809 series has the following features:

  • Low power consumption
  • Low temperature coefficient
  • Built-in delay circuit: 200ms
  • High input voltage (up to 8V)
  • Output voltage accuracy: tolerance ±2%
  • SOT23 package.

The voltage detection chip plays a vital role in multiple critical areas, which is indispensable in ensuring the safety and stable operation of the system.

For instance , the battery management , to keep the battery working well through continuously monitoring the voltage range, and timely alerting and trigging protective measures ; in Power management , maintaining input power stability, triggering reset or protection mechanism when abnormal to ensure stable system operation; the last is in device protection, key voltages of electronic equipment are monitored by the VD chips to prevent damage or data loss caused by abnormalities.
